A Reiki Treatment

A Reiki treatment is a comfortable, safe and very simple process. To receive a Reiki treatment, you just lie on a massage table (provided by me) and relax. If you are unable to lie down the treatment can be given in a sitting position, the main thing is for you to be as comfortable as possible. There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki will pass through anything, even plaster casts.

The actual treatment involves me gently placing my hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions around (but not touching) the body. Reiki treats the whole person rather than specific symptoms.

Most people feel very relaxed and at peace after Reiki treatments, although Reiki can also stir up emotions as part of the healing process. You may feel tired, but sometimes full of energy. Some people also experience a healing reaction, such as headaches, cold or flu-like symptoms. These symptoms are normally of short duration.

Do I need to wear any special clothing?

In short, no. All that matters is that you are comfortable. You do not to remove any clothing for a reiki treatment. As a rule, I will also cover you in a blanket during the treatment.

Which conditions can Reiki help?

It is possible to heal at any level of being: physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. Acute injuries can be helped to heal very quickly but more chronic illness takes longer. In some cases such as terminal illness, there is not enough time for the progress of the disease to be reversed. However, in such cases there is usually great benefit and enhancement of the quality of life giving a sense of peace and acceptance during the time remaining.

How long will a Reiki treatment take?

Reiki treatments do not follow set timings. The body will accept a certain amount of healing energy, and so a treatment will take as long as is needed. However, generally this is somewhere between 30 and 75 minutes.

The first session will also involve a general chat about your situation and your goals for the treatment and will take around 1-2 hours.

Where can I have my Reiki treatment?

You can come to my clinic in Bracknell, Berkshire, or have your treatment in the comfort of your own home - whatever suits you.

Diagnosis

Reiki practitioners are not trained in diagnosis and so I will not offer any diagnosis, prognosis or advice. If you are concerned about your symptoms you should see your doctor.
